NYSDOL Certifications

ATS Engineering LLC meets the NYSDOL criteria for performing periodic inspection and recertification of building rigs in New York State. The regulation states building rigs must be inspected by a licensed New York State Professional Engineer (P.E.) with experience in powered platform equipment. Inspections must be carried out at least once every 5 years or sooner after the initial 7 year approval is granted.

REGULATIONS

ALL CERTIFICATIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED IN WRITING TO ESU. ALL COMPONENTS OF THE SYSTEM MUST BE:

  • Safe and functioning as originally designed.
  • Free from defects or wear which would require replacement.
  • In accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations and Appendix 101A of NYSDOL Advisory Standard 101.
  • Capable of supporting all loading required by design.

NYSDOL REQUIRES ALL BUILDINGS WITH ACTIVE APPROVALS DATED:

  • prior to January 1, 1990, needs recertified by January 1, 2014
  • between January 1, 1990 and Dec. 31, 1999, recertified by January 1, 2015
  • between January 1, 2000, and Dec. 31, 2009, recertified by January 1, 2017
